Mater Dei and Sierra Canyon went head-to-head in a non-league flag football battle that came down to the wire, with the Monarchs escaping Chatsworth with a 26-20 victory over the Trailblazers.
The story of the game was the battle at quarterback. Both signal-callers made plays and kept their teams within striking distance, but Mater Dei QB Tymane Allen did just enough when it mattered most to give the Monarchs the edge and secure the win.
Sierra Canyon entered the matchup with a 7-2 record and put up a fight from start to finish, but Mater Dei’s offense found just enough answers to come away with the six-point victory.
