Caleb Williams did it again.
The second-year quarterback brought the Chicago Bears back in a game with an incredible throw.
Williams outdid himself Sunday night in an NFC divisional round matchup against Los Angeles. Just a week after he led the Bears to a come-from-behind victory with several big passes, he rose to the occasion once again against the Rams.

On a fourth-and-4 play from the 14-yard line with the Bears down 17-10 and just 27 seconds to play in the fourth quarter, Williams found tight end Cole Kmet in the end zone with an off-balance throw. The pass was so impressive that it made history according to NFL Next Gen Stats.
The pass from Williams helped Chicago tie the game, 17-17, to force overtime in the playoff matchup at Soldier Field. The Rams earned the 20-17 win in overtime following an interception, but Williams’ touchdown pass will go down as the biggest play of the night.
The USC alum ran away from Rams linebackers Jared Verse and Josaiah Stewart on the play and ultimately ended up at the 40-yard line. It was at that moment he uncorked the off-balance throw that found Kmet open in the back of the end zone with 18 seconds left in regulation.
Williams Can’t Complete Latest Comeback
Williams has come into his own in his second season, and the pass in Sunday’s game was just his latest highlight conversion. Just last week, he found receiver Rome Odunze on a fourth-and-8 pass in the fourth quarter against the Packers to help Chicago pull out a comeback win against their rival on Wild Card Weekend.
That victory over the Packers marked the sixth fourth-quarter comeback for the Bears this season, an NFL record. It was also the biggest playoff deficit Chicago has erased in franchise history, 18 points.
Williams couldn’t complete the comeback Sunday night. His third and final interception in the game proved costly as it allowed the Rams to kick a 42-yard field goal and clinch a spot in the NFC Championship.
He finished the overtime loss with 257 yards passing plus a pair of touchdowns and 3 interceptions. Williams added 40 yards on the ground including a 26-yard run in the fourth quarter.
The Rams will take on NFC West foe Seattle in next week’s NFC Championship. New England will square off with the Denver Broncos for the chance to play in Super Bowl LX in Santa Clara, California. The Patriots defeated Houston, 28-16, on Sunday.
