Some of the top players in California announced their college commitments in July.
June was a month filled with commitments from several of the top class of 2027 players in California. Those commitments slowed down in July, but some excellent prospects still announced their college decisions.

Here is a breakdown of the top recruits in California who announced their college commitments in July.
ATH Paisios Polamalu
High School: St. Augustine (San Diego)
Commitment: Stanford
Breakdown: Paisios Polamalu ran for 1,530 yards with 19 touchdowns and had 3 receiving touchdowns for St. Augustine. Defensively, Polamalu led St. Augustine with 108 tackles, 2 forced fumbles, 2 blocked field goals and 6 interceptions. He is the son of NFL Hall of Famer Troy Polamalu. Polamalu visited Stanford and USC in June and was recruited as a safety by both schools.
QB Caden Jones
High School: Crean Lutheran (Irvine)
Commitment: Arizona
Breakdown: Caden Jones completed 75 percent of his passes for 3,044 yards with 30 touchdowns and just 1 interception for Crean Lutheran last season. He earned First Team All-County honors from the Orange County Register and is also a starting basketball player for the Saints. Baylor, Washington and Arkansas also offered Jones among many others. His older brother Carter Jones is a second-year linebacker at Arizona.
OL Lincoln Mageo
High School: Oceanside
Commitment: Michigan
Breakdown: Lincoln Mageo led an Oceanside offensive line that helped the team average 154 rushing yards per game with 18 touchdowns. He also took visits to Arizona and Utah and was offered by Ohio State.
DB Evan Mack
High School: Crean Lutheran
Commitment: Arizona
Breakdown: Evan Mack had 49 tackles with 2 interceptions for Crean Lutheran last season after transferring in from Long Beach Wilson. He visited Arizona in June and also took visits to Arizona State and Washington. Mack is one of four players from Crean Lutheran in Arizona’s 2027 recruiting class.
LB Deandre Kirkpatrick
High School: Crenshaw (Los Angeles)
Commitment: San Diego State
Breakdown: Deandre Kirkpatrick is one of the top overall players in the LA City Section and could either be an inside linebacker or edge rusher at the college level. Arizona State, Oregon State and UNLV also offered him among others.
WR Chase Bonta
High School: Chaparral (Temecula)
Commitment: Cal Poly
Breakdown: Chase Bonta caught 25 passes for 406 yards with 3 touchdowns for Chaparral last season and missed six games due to injury. Montana State, Idaho State and Weber State also offered Bonta among others.
RB Eli Dukes
High School: Palma (Salinas)
Commitment: UC Davis
Breakdown: Dukes led all juniors in the state in rushing last season and was seventh overall in the state with 2,420 yards on 221 carries with 34 touchdowns. He chose UC Davis over Navy and Oregon State, which were also in his top three.
OL Calvin Moala
High School: Chaparral
Commitment: San Jose State
Breakdown: Calvin Moala was the best offensive lineman for a Chaparral team that had one of the best offenses in the Southern Section. BYU, Cal, Utah and Washington also offered Moala.
DB Mekhai Watkins
High School: Frontier
Commitment: Fresno State
Breakdown: Mekhai Watkins had 55 tackles with 3 interceptions for Frontier last season. He also had offers from Sacramento State, Cal Poly and UNLV and was offered by Fresno State after visiting the campus for junior day.
DB Dorian Franklin
High School: St. John Bosco (Bellflower)
Commitment: Harvard
Breakdown: Dorian Franklin is a nickel corner who had 23 tackles with a pass deflection for St. John Bosco last season. He was a MVP at the Prep Redzone Exposure Series camp in May and had a great showing at the Battle at the Beach passing tournament. Franklin also had offers from Arizona State, Arizona, Colorado State, New Mexico and UNLV among others.
WR Blake Rogers
High School: La Habra
Commitment: Southern Utah
Breakdown: Blake Rogers caught 47 passes for 905 yards with 9 touchdowns for La Habra last season and was a major part of the Highlanders’ CIF championship run. Sacramento State also offered Rogers, who had a good showing at the Under Armour Next camp in April.
DL Kameron Payne
High School: Chaparral
Commitment: Cal Poly
Breakdown: Kameron Payne had 62 tackles, 12 for a loss, six sacks with 20 hurries for Chaparral last season. New Mexico and UNLV were the two FBS schools that offered Payne, and he also had offers from Northern Arizona and Idaho State.
OL Seth Sullivan
High School: Redondo Union (Redondo Beach)
Commitment: San Diego State
Breakdown: Seth Sullivan led a Redondo Union offensive line that helped the Sea Hawks reach the Division 5 championship game. Northern Arizona, Oregon State, Washington State, San Jose State also offered Sullivan among others. He is a strong tackle prospect with the frame to add some more weight without sacrificing his quick feet.
WR Clark Cokley
High School: JSerra (San Juan Capistrano)
Commitment: Georgetown
Breakdown: Clark Cokley led JSerra in receiving with 694 yards on 51 catches with eight touchdowns last season and earned All-Trinity League honors. Nevada, New Mexico, San Diego State and multiple Ivy League schools also offered Cokley among others.
ATH Wyatt Bogdan
High School: Laguna Beach
Commitment: Portland State
Breakdown: Wyatt Bogdan led the Breakers with 113 tackles, 3.5 sacks, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery and 2 interceptions. He also caught 31 passes for 410 yards with 6 touchdowns.
