Mission Viejo handed Folsom its only loss of the season in 2025 and the Bulldogs went on to win a State championship in California. The Diablos dominated Folsom 53-14 last season in Mission Viejo, but that game did not accurately represent the gap between the two teams. Folsom elected to drive seven hours to Mission Viejo on game day rather than arriving early and spending a night. Mission Viejo flew up to Folsom on Wednesday to avoid travel woes and is doing a walk-through practice at UC Davis on Thursday.
Folsom will be eager to prove that last year was an anomaly and has an advantage being at home this season. Mission Viejo has cruised to two blowout wins and its starters only played a half in a 77-12 win over St. Paul last week. This is a big step up in competition for the Diablos and this is the toughest test of their season until potentially being in the Division 1 playoffs.

Mission Viejo
Brett Burnor, QB
Brett Burnor has thrown for 444 yards with 8 touchdowns and no interceptions this season. Mission Viejo threw for 323 yards with 5 touchdowns against Folsom last season albeit with a senior quarterback who now plays at Ohio State. Burnor won a tight quarterback competition this summer for the Diablos and has transitioned smoothly to varsity football as a sophomore.
Jack Junker, WR
The San Jose State commit had a 51-yard touchdown catch against Folsom last season and is quietly one of the best deep threat receivers in the state. Jack Junker has just 3 catches this season but two of them are for touchdowns and he is averaging 43.7 yards per catch.
Luke Karby, TE
Luke Karby leads Mission Viejo in receiving this season with 218 yards on 10 catches with 3 touchdowns. The Duke commit had a 23-yard touchdown catch last season against Folsom. He is a tough matchup for a lot of defenses with his size and can be a safety blanket for an inexperienced quarterback like Burnor.
Dylan Felli, OL
Dylan Felli is the starting left guard for Mission Viejo and is a team captain this season. He does a very good job bouncing to the second level in the run game and moves well for a guy with his length. Felli has offers from Montana, San Diego and Hawaii.
Noah Lee, DL
Mission Viejo had 10.5 sacks last season against Folsom with 11 hurries which was crucial to its lopsided victory. Noah Lee is the best pass rushing defensive lineman for the Diablos and had 7 tackles with a hurry last season against Folsom.
Jordan Hicks, DB
Jordan Hicks is one of the top defensive backs in the 2028 class and has an interception for the Diablos this season. He forced a fumble against Folsom last season and shut down his half of the field.

Brody Rudnicki, QB
The Cal commit threw a touchdown pass and ran for a touchdown for Folsom last week against Cardinal Newman. Brody Rudnicki has shown he can perform on big stages and started at quarterback in Folsom’s State championship win over Cathedral Catholic last season.
Rob Larson, WR
Rob Larson did not record a catch last week against Cardinal Newman, but is Folsom’s best skill player when healthy. The UCLA commit caught 82 passes for 1,146 yards with a team-high 18 touchdowns last season. He threw a touchdown pass and had a touchdown reception against Mission Viejo last season.
Malachi Coleman, OL
Malachi Coleman can play guard or tackle for Folsom and is the best senior lineman for the Bulldogs. He is committed to UC Davis and will need a big game to protect Rudnicki against a good Mission Viejo pass rush.
EJ Coleman, LB
EJ Coleman is the middle linebacker for Folsom and is excellent at stopping the run. He does a good job avoiding offensive linemen at the second level and has good short-area quickness. Coleman is committed to Washington State and has sideline-to-sideline speed and can diagnose plays quickly.
